The Origins of Thanksgiving
It seems there are two stories for the beginnings of Thanksgiving in the Autumn of 1621. The Center for World Thanksgiving at Thanks-Giving Square has thrown some light on this subject. The two original writings by Edward Winslow, Mourt's Relation and William Bradford, Of Plymouth Plantation are linked below along with an analysis of the roots of Thanksgiving.
